Cruise Ships
Breaking news fresh from Reg. Cruise ships anchored in Los Cristianos, with Tenders running passengers to and fro.

Re: Cruise Ships
The World ain't no ordenery cruse ship, you buy an apartment on it and live there as it takes you around the world so to speak, seen it tied up in Leith Docks (Edinburgh) about a year or so back, think the festival was on at the time...

Re: Cruise Ships
Saw the "WORLD" in Monaco this year it looked deserted and the crew all looked pissed off, I remember some cruise line announcing they would be docking in L.C. this year , could be Fred Olsen as they also dock in La Gomera

Re: Cruise Ships
A million apologies, I was wrong!! Apparently it is the WORLD just read it in the newspaper DA It really didn't look THAT BIG as we drove by!! Let's hope the passengers spend some money and perhaps if I put my lippy on I can sneak aboard tonight when I take my girls for their walk.

I doubt they'll be able to find anywhere in LC to spend the sort of dosh they're used to spending !

Re: Cruise Ships
The World is not a large ship by modern standards , of you saw it beside Norwegian Epic or Oasis Of The Sea for example it would look tiny ,but anchored off L.C. it would look big compared to the ferries, it is actually quite funny when you get up close as some owners have potted plants and ornaments on the balconies in fact it looks a bit naff ,more like holiday homes than ship cabins

Re: Cruise Ships
Ah, just like Green Park then, a bit naff. I have a couple of Aloe Vera plants on my balcony in my little triangle garden, I didnt plant them, they just appeared on their own. They flower nicely though. All the stuff I planted died.......searcher wrote:The World is not a large ship by modern standards , of you saw it beside Norwegian Epic or Oasis Of The Sea for example it would look tiny ,but anchored off L.C. it would look big compared to the ferries, it is actually quite funny when you get up close as some owners have potted plants and ornaments on the balconies in fact it looks a bit naff ,more like holiday homes than ship cabins
Anyway just because you are a billionaire doesnt mean you have class. I expect at least one taxi load went to the Funchal Strip. Oh, I go there too.

We did a Med cruise on the Escape! a bit like camping at sea but it was one of the best cruises we have done , the food was O.K. but the entertainment was brilliant , the cruise director was the best in the business and we laughed for weeks after we got home, we use that trip to judge the entertainment on other ships but none has come close so far

Re: Cruise Ships
We also grabbed a Med on the Island Escape, we were booked for a third time on a fab little ship called Ausonia. We had a call two weeks before to say it had been changed to Island Escape and we thought give it a go. We had best cabins on board and the stunk of sewage, you could hear the system being pumped in the middle of the night, even though we were top deck. The entertainment was as Bill says, brilliant. The cruise director was in the Thompson Spirit as we were given a free cruise on there as compo and I must say I have been on many cruise ships some are just exceptional but the food and entertainment on the spirit were better than most. I know the food on P&O or Cunard is outstanding but for quality the Spirit was super
