Cost of booze and cigarettes?
Is Tenerife a duty free area? If so, what would the cost ( on average ) be for 200 cigarettes ( B & H for example)? Also, rough cost of spirits?

I bought 2 sleeves of sterling fags for £38 in the airport, about how that compares

Re: Cost of booze and cigarettes?
Yes Tenerife is a duty free zone but last year they slapped some duty on the fags so the duty free in the airport is now competitive with the likes of Spanish Style etc. Sometimes slightly cheaper. Name brand spirits 10+ Euros a litre depends what it is. Guardia Civil have started to relieve people of their cigs if they think you are taking the Mick at security so best to get them air-side in the duty free then stuff them in your hand luggage. Of course you should never stuff your suitcase with fags cos British customs love to X-Ray them before they are put on the Carousel, or as you walk out at some airports, Birmingham and Blackpool spring to mind.

You're actually allowed very little from Tenerife to UK. You can take loads back from mainland Spain though...

It costs more Cam. Son in law is back from Portugal today, he will have a fair bit. Customs probably wont pull him with six kids in tow but he has had them took off him before. He said they were for his own use but then couldnt produce a packet of Rizlas or a lighter..........GUILTY.

I used to smoke 40 a day. Gave them up when eldest lad was born. Still have an odd puff ( queue the comments) when I get very pissed.

Re: Cost of booze and cigarettes?
Have not smoked since I was a young lad (last week) it was either the car or the fags and the car won . The car dealers have been having the money saved ever since then.
