    Back from soggy UK and see Aemet are forecasting snow down to 1300 mtrs today!  That's only just a bit higher than Roque del Conde so should be visible on the outer slopes of the caldera.

    Keep an eye peeled!

    What's the lowest folks have seen snow on the island???

    It is certainly cold enough this morning for snow, only 16 down here and taken almost an hour to climb that high. Brrrrrrrrrrr

    Jetstream Forecast - Jetstream Map Updated Four Times Daily - Netweather.tv

    See? In the winter the jetstream usually turns back at the Med. Or further North. It can drag in weather from the North (Greenland, Iceland) Also I hear it has slowed its meandering dragging in long lasting weather patterns.
    Aircraft often use this to their advantage. I used to wonder why planes from East Midlands Airport sometimes go via Manchester the Isle of Man and Dublin then head down to Madeira. Looking at this it becomes obvious making savings in fuel and time. Only problem is of course they have to come back. However an Easterly diversion via Faro and then North today will make a nice difference both ways.

    The snow melted just past Vilaflor as temps got to 12 degrees but as you went up another k, temps started to drop rapidly. Very little snow where we were turned but 5 deg, so reckon it was bad just a few yards further round.
