Difficult, I do the majority of my shopping in Mercadona but I find the one at Las Chafiras (closest to GdS) far more expensive than either the one I use in Adeje or Cabo Blanco. HiperDino on the opposite side of the motorway has a good choice of products, many cheaper than Mercadona but IMO it is a typical Spanish shop there isn´t much thought gone into where you find products it is all a bit of a mish-mash so you get garden chairs next to fruit and veg or irons and clothes airers next to beers. I just find it claustrophobic, but if you can get past that their fresh foods are really good.
Are you hiring a car, if so I would use Lidl which is very cheap and their produce is first class, if you want frozen foods I would suggest Five Oceans rather than Iceland because you don´t have to have pre-packaged you can choose as many peas, sprouts or fruit cocktail as you want.

Yes, it is on the opposite side of the motorway to Mercadona, before you get here email me and I will give you directions because it looks as if you are heading into a place were factories and warehouses are located, it is also all one way roads but there are a few places there that are good for shopping.

Dermot there are a couple of small shops in G.D.S. but would not advise you to use them unless it was an emergency, they are really expensive

Thanks Bill. I think we will do a couple of trips each week to the bigger supermarkets. Its just for breakfast stuff and snacks for during the day. There won't be any cooking done for the 2 weeks.

I quite like these cereals but your kids may like the same but chocolate flavour. They aren't expensive and IMO better than anything I ever had in the UK

However try looking out for 'Jesuman' not Jesum it is a cash and carry open to the public there is one in Las Chafiras and the other one I know is in Alcala these are the people who also own the supermarkets HiperTrébol so the stuff is good.

shite riddles innit. Jesum was near enough.
Bollocks got bad hangover, out till 3.30....................loads of good nosh at Giovannis.
We had Calamri then King prawns, which were both fabulous. Then came some really nice chicken in a cream sauce, some excellent Lamb and some fab pizzas, this was followed by some superb Sirloin in red vino Jus.
A stunning Croc en Bouche made by wifies fair hands.
Loads of booze flowed and it was very reasonable.
We then went to Lazy Daze for a party with Bobby and Cara as it was Cara´s Birthday on Saturday 1st. Stu had a good 30th, now we are about to have a Barb for Clare as her 32nd.
Have a good day you lot, I know this is wrong thread to tell you this, bollix

We find that Asturias U.H.T. [long life milk] is great it comes in 1-5ltr bottles and doesn't need refrigeration until you are going to use it ,it saves the trouble of going out just for milk
