Is there an equivalent of a small claims court in the Canaries? I see on TA that Gold Car Rental is getting dogs abuse ( yet again). If you feel that you have been missold something, is there an inexpensive option of bringing them to court?

I would assume that the equivalent is to take out a denuncia but the law in Tenerife is extremely slow.
As far as the car hire company is concerned in a lot of cases people just dont read the TOB and then complain if they feel they have been ripped off. Gold Car has a whole section on returning the car and the options you can choose.

First you ask for a hoja de reclamation, they must by law keep them on the business premises.
That usualy rattles their cage, I think you then post it at the town hall for all and sundry to read.
Then you waste time and money doing a denuncia, Its all designed for the Spanish to get away with murder, You can of course use somebody that doe's all that legal stuff like i did, She took €50 and did absolutely nothing, She says we are clear green solutions or something like that,
Absolute shower of shite and i wouldnt go near them again
