Re: The Palms, Golf Del Sur
We stayed there a couple of years ago and the smell of the kerosene when the planes went into reverse thrust on landing was more of a problem than the noise when we read the luggage labels as they went straight over the top of us.

Re: The Palms, Golf Del Sur
We have stayed at The Palms for some years now, and yes there is very low planes overhead but to be honest they are only momentary and they seem to come in batches and some days you only get a few, the joy of The Palms far outweighs the noise, you get used to it after the first couple of planes.
If anyone know of some accommodation we can have for end of February for a week 2015 will really be appreciated as we are now struggling to find anywhere in the Golf del Sur or Amarilla Golf area everything is booked up obviously too popular now a days.

I will be back on Western GDS on Saturday evening, pushing an invalid about in a wheelchair. Not looking forwards to going uphill at all so yes, down hill sounds good to me. The lower it gets the better.

Re: The Palms, Golf Del Sur
Didnt know he had been in hospital, feel sorry for the nurses now. If hes too ill to use it I might ask to borrow his mobility scooter. I live on the lower side of Green Park (haha) and it may be too much for me to push him up the slope to get to Sundowners, I have hired a car so to save the hassle of loading him and the wheelchair into the car I was thinking of employing a tow rope the speed humps may present a bit of a problem though, the wheels are quite small on the front of his wheelchair and I have visions of seeing him somersaulting in the rear view mirror....... Tow him backwards then, sorted.
