Was out there once when bad storms hit, Las Vistas and Fanabe beaches got it bad, once the storms stopped, every low tide the council were down their with JCB digger etc reclaiming there beach's, the small restaurant on the point at the far end of Calleta got it bad as well, water was up about four feet in the place...
As you say Gypsy weather don't have to be bad, was sitting having lunch in one of the restaurants on the front of the La Vista Centre, beautiful day, no storms, beach mobbed, suddenly out of the blue a huge wave comes right up the beach to the prom wall, sunbeds, peoples belongings floating everywhere, funny as hell (no one was hurt), ten minutes earlier we were down there, luckily we took out belongings with us to lunch, phew...
