More bad news from the other side
For those of you who also frequent the TF, it has been announced today that Mike In Chayofa has died.
He was one of the more user friendly mods and was also someone who would try and help if he could when you had a problem.

That is very sad, I met Mike when we first moved to the island 9 years ago. He was then still working as an Estate agent in Camberley, he was always a genuine honest guy. We shared a few coffees over the years. From what I could see he never let the politics of that forum stand in the way of friends and acquaintances he was one of the good guys that was never 'bought'. I will miss him and our online chats because over the years as his illness progressed that is what they turned into online. RIP Mike a true gent.

Thats sad. When we stayed in Puerto Santiago a number of years ago, he tried to meet up with me but I forgot my laptop and never got any arrangements. He had friends staying in the same complex and when he visited them, he walked all around the pools listening for an Irish accent in case it was me. They have lost 2 great characters in recent times. My condolences to his family and friends.

Re: More bad news from the other side
I posted the following message on behalf of all our members who knew Mike -
"I don't wish to get involved in any arguments or discussions about the politics regarding the TFoF BUT on behalf of all their members who are/were members of this forum, I have agreed to post to say how sad they are to hear the news about Mike - they all agree that he was a true gentleman and many regard him as a friend."
Young Golfer replied on behalf of the TF as follows -
"It's a shame we have lost two members of our forum and both members that contributed a great deal over the years R.I.P. both of you. And BobMac thank you for your post and send the members back on the other forum our thanks for their message."
Apparently TF Forum member Atlantico died a few weeks ago.

Re: More bad news from the other side
I met and liked Al Jay and I believe his music threads would have been very popular if he had joined this forum. I didn´t know Atlantico but even so it is always sad to hear about the passing of people you have shared conversations with even if only on the internet. It suddenly makes us all aware of our mortality. RIP any loss is sad.

It doesn't seem to have been announced for some reason. Apparently he died a couple of weeks ago.

Onwards and upwards Reg. My condolences to all who knew him, I didnt. Bit concerned about Slodge, I have met him. Strange when you meet someone and they are nothing like you envisaged eh? To all those who have not met me, worse, much worse.

Topdog was taller than I thought, must have been the skirting boards then. Mermaid is miniscule!
