Re: Edinburgh Festival
We were in town on Saturday with friends from the West! the place can only be described as magical during the festival , everyone is so cheerful and friendly, we had a great lunch in Cafe Andaluz, the place was heaving, we then went to Scotts in Rose street for a wee swally, a great time was had by all

Re: Edinburgh Festival
You could sail up and moor around Musselburgh , accommodation costs a fortune during the festival

Re: Edinburgh Festival
We are just in the middle of planning a long weekend to the Fringe biggest problem ( next to the prices of hotels ) is what to go and see the amount of shows is bewildering so if anyone has any ideas for any comedy shows or theatre shows please post them, think we are going Friday the 5th or the 12th August

I love whisky but it affects my brain cells in not a good way and anyway since my wee brush with illness a few years ago I have not touched any spirits, I stick to few beers nowThe Lone Ranger wrote:I never acquired a taste for whisky...don't even like the smell of it.

That time of year again we are there 5th to take in a couple of shows at the Fringe then going to see Dirty Harry Blondie tribute band on the 27th they are excellent and will probably go again couple of times. Anyone else planning to visit?

On the 5th I'll be sailing down the Danube on the good ship MS Serenade II

We've used it for the airport and it was fine AJ. Never used it to go into Edinburgh city centre, but I expect it''l be OK.

Re: Edinburgh Festival
Nah, got to negotiate your way halfway around Edinburgh ring road to get there, drive to as near as you can get to Inverkething railway station, there is free parking nearby, Google it, train takes you right in to city centre in about 25 minutes...
