Re: UK Weather
didn't know there was a webcam there, That's the junction of Shop St, Mainguard St, and High Street. St Nicholas church is just out of view to the right. Couldn't tell you what religion it is but its an old building. That red pub is The King's Head, a great music venue but it is more rock/indy stuff though you sometimes get an impromptu session in the bar at the front. And yes, it's dull, dreary and drizzily here.

Re: UK Weather
Cam and Trish, if you like your walks, there is a lovely one @ 2.5 miles long along the promenade in Salthill ( Galway Bay ) out to Mutton Island on a causeway. It's traditional to "kick the wall" in Blackrock ( the Salthill end of the walk) to signify you're finished. You'll see loads of walkers and runners doing this.

Link to webcam There's 2 views. Shop St and High St. I think the cameras are on the same building.

That Taaffes Bar ( Taff's) also does music, mostly folk/trad if memory serves. I'm not going to be that good telling you which spot does what kind of music as it might have changed in the ten years since I've been out in Galway. Taaffe's also does food, in particular homemade soup and homemade brown soda bread. Mmmmmm......

It's completely flat Trish, though you are right beside Galway Bay so might be windy.
