I'd like to know how they ensure there are no more rockfalls...

I was thinking that as well. I wonder did they inspect the wall of the canyon, dislodge any loose stuff and then put one of those big wire mesh things over the dodgy bits?? Thats what they do in KerryThe Lone Ranger wrote:I'd like to know how they ensure there are no more rockfalls...

While we are on the subject, you have to pay now to walk the barranco and they only allow X amount of people per day. Where do you pay/get a permit??

Yeah, but it's a big barranco, they can't do it all.

I'm going to do the Masca walk this year. Last time I tried it, the island was on fire and the heat was sweeping up one side of the mountain and down through Masca. When we got out of the car the temp was reading 46 degrees. It was like standing in a hair dryer, very strong hot breeze. If you opened your mouth, it went dry almost immediately. I saw 2 English lads ( mid 40's I'd say) who went walking the barranco with a 2 litre bottle of water each. The locals tried to warn them but they decided to do it anyway. Madness!

I'm also going to walk along the coastal path from Playa de La Arena to San Juan. I want a gander at Europe's biggest swimming pool in that Guia de Isora resort in Alcala

You can book your place HERE on the official website, or take your chance and pay at the door next to Otello Chicken at the top of Adeje.
You can also walk the other way from Ifonche
