Don´t know which is which and would be frightened to have it done by a neighbour here had the op, where they open the eye and stick a lens inside so unlike laser it doesn´t wear off as you get older and your sight starts to deteriorate. She had perfect vision within a couple of days, so impressed her OH had his done too.

I was just looking at this very same thing yesterday. My vision has begun to deteriorate in last 6 months. I was putting it down to reading the Kindle in the dark.

Dermo, I started using reading glasses at age 45. Strength 2 I needed immediately and still on same strength now. Think its just some muscles give up but it dont get any worse. Well not for me anyway. I can still see to perfection long distance. As far as I can remember it just happened over night! One day you can read the newspaper next day its just page 3. Stu had it done by Optical express, they fecked it up, the specialist that he went to for correction, paid for by optical express said it looked like someone had done it with a lawn mower. It cost us 2.5 for Stu's per eye and that was from an original quote of 800 per eye, by the tiime they kept adding bits here there and everywhere. We got about 6k back plus his eyes put right, did not want to sue but could have just wanted all expenses for days off work and travel etc He had lasek I think first and put right with Lasik

Thye denied it first of Reg just said it needs time, he went to get a second opinion and then they admitted, we had some guy fro Optical express in USA discussing possibilities (he was calling from head office in the US) and he said about an out of court settlement, then never heard again they shut jhim up. After long battle they set him to Harley street to their clinic and had done by one of top guys and then agreed all costs and a bit on top if we did not persue. Stu had what he originally wanted and in the end free of charge so okey dokey.

Knew a girl optician (a real one not Specksavers), she wore glasses, the subject of laser surgery came up in conversation with her one day, simple answer she had,,, "Never, it goes wrong",,, she went on to explain that not only can it go wrong at the initial point of surgery but that in many cases it is not a life long cure and further corrective surgery may be required...

Only quoting what she said, I ain't no expert as luckily it is something I have no need for therefore have never looked in to it, but if my eyesight was to deteriorate her words would be strong in my mind...
