1955 (now that it's there), hovercraft, one year while doing a driving holiday abroad decided to take the SeaCat on the way out over the channel and the hovercraft back just to experience it, on the SeaCat journey out the sea was a bit choppy, didn't slow the thing down, you just had to keep a good grip of your beer at the bar as the thing was bouncing everywhere... On the way back the hovercraft sets off, fast but noisy, were about ten minutes in to the journey the noise level increases dramatically plus the thing starts shaking it's self apart, pilot/captain anounces he's having to shut one of the props down due to a technical issue therefore journeys gonna take a bit longer, didn't slow us down much, only added about five minutes to the journey time, but the strange thing was after shutting down one of the props it felt as if we were traveling at a 45% angle to the direction we were heading not straight as it had been when we first set off, so basically sorta crossed the channel sideways...
