Janet and myself was watching a guy swinging about near the roof yesterday. Janet said no health and safety here is there. No building now either

Apparently the took down a supporting wall and then the whole place went. A lady was trapped but the police, fire and ambulance were on site within minutes / dont know whether she was badly hurt or not.

Its on the road leading down from from the cultural centre!, Calle del Valle Menendez, it's not a street you would really go down when on holiday, more you need a reason to be there, that said there was a decent resturant Down near the end of it...

Re: Building Collapses in Los Cris
Got to say I'm surprised that more don't fall down, especially the older ones where they didn't use a steel reinforced concrete framework, just breeze block on top of breeze block,,, take a walk around the older area up the hill behind Los Chris/San Telmo some scary stuff up there...

Re: Building Collapses in Los Cris
Latest here is 11 missing and one woman has died but possibly two as a woman was heard screaming for help buried under the rubble and they have still not got to her, but she has now been silent for over an hour. But I belive we must really wait and see. People you speak to here saythey think the death toll will be a few, lets hope that is incorrect speculation.

Re: Building Collapses in Los Cris
Latest according to the radio http://englishtimeadeje.com/english-time-14042016/ this is the link Items on the above are at 9minutes and 58 minutes. The press conference was still taking place as the programme ended but Clio established that at that point 3 people were injured, 9 were unaccounted for, and the cause of the collapse had not yet been announced. Speculation is it could be the builders working in the Banesto Bank.
The 57 year woman injuries are to her upper arm. The man is a 28-year-old Italian who has minor shoulder injury. Both taken to Hospiten Sur but neither critical and a woman 55 years, treated at the scene for shock
There will be another press conference at 5.00pm to update what happened

Re: Building Collapses in Los Cris
Yeah, you're front line alright Reg. I shall look forward to the interview when the tsunami turns up.
I first read about this on BBC, site is getting worse by the day but thats another story. Headline was Building collapses in Tenerife........ I had my fingers crossed it wasnt Green Park. I have experienced a strong earthquake, in New Zealand, if I ever felt anything like that in Tenerife I would be the first bugger jumping out the window. And that picture makes this Tenerife one look worse than most earthquake collapses. Anyone wanna buy a ticket for Tuesday..........
