    Happened early hours of this morning when boat caught fire and sank. The 3 man crew swam 200 metres to shore to save their own necks.

    These lifeboats are quick to launch and work from beaches and can be used when tide is out! Wells for example has one of these and a much bigger one. You may laugh but if you are in trouble you will be pleased when it turns up!

    They bought a hovercraft at Skeggy yacht club last year to save wading through mud to sort out the channel. Cost 6k I think. Never even seen it yet.     Anyway talking of Skeggy yacht club I got a snotty letter last year asking why I'm not down there sailing and joining in with club activities, and am I only there to get a cheap mooring? NO, the reason is the friggin engines not working and I live 65 miles away.... So I rang the Commodore, thats the head poncho, dont think hes ex Navy but heyho, to explain and he tells me hes not Commodore anymore, there has been a big falling out. He said not to worry anyway, most of the boats never move from one year to the next. Anyway I missed the AGM this year, was in Tenerife, Skegness lifeboat sinks. 1554180325 so I have no idea who is in charge. If I was to guess? The guy who at the previous AGM kept butting in........ I hope not though.
