I had full sponsorship and had been accepted to go and had visited four times before,I dipped out - The partner at the time didn't really want to leave her family and like a tit I listened to her instead of going on my own . She only lasted another 18 months .

My mate and his wife emigrated to Canada about 15 years back. Gave up his job in BT, sold up the house etc and off they went. They were back in 6 months. His wife missed her family etc. Understandable, but he was lucky, BT gave him his job back. He only lost out on pension contributions for the time he was away. Still had to get a new house and furniture and everything though...it's a major decision something like that. I'm not doing it at my age now, though I could probably be a swallow like Howard.

I think you have to give it at least year and maybe a different town if the one you are in is not for you. Perth,Melbourne and Sidney are like chalk and cheese.

Re: TF5 reopens to traffic
My daughter lived in Mississauga for 5 years, we found a place up at Lake on the Mountain, Prince Edward and were about to put in an offer on a house when we found they wouldn´t let us stay legally. Everyone told us to stay 6 months then nip into America for a break then come back. We don´t do illegal though so that stopped us in our tracks. Shame it was lovely.

Re: TF5 reopens to traffic
A few of you probably had this email about different places, but for those who didn´t receive it.
I have been in many places, but I've never been in Cahoots. Apparently, you can't go alone. You have to be in Cahoots with someone.
I've also never been in Cognito. I hear no one recognizes you there.
I have, however, been in Sane. They don't have an airport; you have to be driven there. I have made several trips there, thanks to my friends, family and work.
I would like to go to Conclusions, but you have to jump, and I'm not too much on physical activity anymore.
I have never been in Doubt. That is a sad place to go, and I try not to visit there.
I've been in Flexible, but only when it was very important to stand firm.
Sometimes I'm in Capable, and I go there more often as I'm getting older.
One of my favorite places to be is in Suspense! It really gets the adrenalin flowing and pumps up the old heart! At my age I need all the stimuli I can get!
And more and more I think of the Here After. Several times a day, in fact, I enter a room and think "What am I here after?"
