Love Jack Reacher !! (admin will have guessed that already. Also Myron Bolitar series by Harlan Coben and anything by Robert Goddard or Nelson DeMille.
Just got the new Matt Hilton paperback No.6 in the Joe Hunter series - Dead Men's Harvest.
Give them a try Gypsy a must read for all Jack Reacher addicts.
Meant to ask Gypsy, what do you make of the casting of Jack Reacher for the new 'One Shot' film (one of my favorite Reacher novels so looking forward to the film).
Typical bloody Hollywood, he's everything the description and image eveybody has of Reacher in there mind when reading the novels is not.

Just found out the premise of my favourite novelists new book, very intriguing.....
A Victorian thriller called
The Candle Man
Locked in an eerily quiet room on the sinking Titanic, a dying man tells
a young girl his life story as the ship begins to sink. It all starts
in Whitechapel, London in 1888, as the Ripper murders began...
Can't wait for that cracking writer highly recommend his novels if you like thrillers, they are without 4 of the best thrillers I've ever read:
A Thousand Suns,
'On April 29th, 1945, the allies unconditionally surrendered to Nazi
Germany. Four hours later that surrender was withdrawn...'
October Skies
2008: Deep in the mountain forests of Wyoming, Julian Cooke stumbles
across the rotting remains of a wooden wagon. He's discovered what's
left of the Preston Group, a convoy of settlers that vanished in the
winter of 1856. It's clear that something horrific happened here all
those years ago, but Cooke can only find a few tantalising clues.
Last Light
'Alex Scarrow's depiction of Britain as only a few hours away from disintegration
is chillingly plausible. This is the perfect book to give to somebody
who opposes your plans to build a wind farm.'
and the follow up book
After Light
Civilisation is gone. Where does humanity go from here...?
Give them a try you won't be disappointed.

Oops sorry, they are written by Alex Scarrow.
Alex is the younger brother of Simon who is well know for his Roman/Centurion based novels.

At the minute I'm reading James Joyce's "Dubliners".
His works have been getting a lot of airtime on the news over here lately due to the fact they are out of copyright so I went out and bought it and "A Potrait of the Artist as a Young Man".
So far Dubliners is a decent enough read.

Only seen the original Brighton Rock film with Richard Attenborough it was excellent wouldn´t mind seeing the latest one - seen the trailer and it looks good but don´t understand why they had to change the dates so it was set in the 60s. Read the book years ago and seem to remember it was very good.
I loved the Girl with the Dragon Tattoo and I am now on Peter James 'Dead like You'.

They have also filmed most of it in Eastbourne, not that many would notice.Gypsy wrote:Only seen the original Brighton Rock film with Richard Attenborough it was excellent wouldn´t mind seeing the latest one - seen the trailer and it looks good but don´t understand why they had to change the dates so it was set in the 60s. I am not reading it at the minute but if I was asked to recommend one book, out of all the book's I have read,I would pick this one all the time.
It is a novel called"Strumpet City" by James Plunkett and its characters are based around the 1913 lock out in Dublin.
Although the book is about poverty, hunger and despair in 1913 Dublin it could be any city in England or Scotland in those day's...or today for that matter.
If your ordering book's soon...get this.

The Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern. Starts at dusk, goes on 'til dawn. It always arrives un-announced.No-one ever sees the tents being erected. I'm half-way through this book just now and it's a very good read. Once I've finished I'll rate it out of ten.

Actually Cam the original was obviously by Anne herself but many people read adaptations or modern versions, even dramatisations. We went to Anne Frank's house in Netherlands last year, we did not go in as the queues were stupid, the price also matched the queue. What really put us off though it has been re facia'd and looks so bloody modern.
The book shop had so many different versions of her Diary, Jan bought the Drama version as a little less depressing to read.

1. A brit came in wielding a machette and stabbed someone in the head, someone in the arms and was carnage everywhere
2. official version, there was an argy during the day and a foriegner (brit) came back with knife (didnt say what size) and a couple of people were hurt but not seriously.
havent heard any updates...THE tenerife forum mod JANET, is tuned into the emergency services frequencies, she usually posts anything news worthy, and its pretty accurate
