SS can put a bit in the Tenerife section concerning the shop and events if she so wants.

The San Eugenio shop is across the road from La Nina, next to Santa Maria Hotel and Amandas Bar. Its the entrance for Las Carabelas and two doors away from Propertiesrus xCaribeCelt wrote:scottishshiv wrote:if any of you need a good book when in tenerife, the Live Arico shop has 100's (a lot of them new)1 euro for hardback and new titles, rest are 3 for 1 euro. end of advertisement, thank you

I also sell book on behalf of K9 but as we don´t have a shop I can pop round to where you are staying and you can check out the boot of the car or give me your favourite authors and I will see what I have in the garage.
Today has got to be a first. I was given €1 by a looky looky man as a donation towards the abandoned dogs. We did really well this lunchtime so thank you holiday makers and especially the guy who looked like Howard (I wasn´t brave enough to chat him up to see if it was him)

No, nothing special, I only keep those in good condition to sell on( €1 each or 3 for €2) the tatty ones I hand in to the Doggy charity shops - I gave a load of German books to Live Arico recently as they get quite a few people wanting non-English books. Magazines go well but I seem to have loads of Classic Motorbikes, Cars and the like when it is trashy ones I need !!!
Hoping to do well next week as there is an event in Costa del Silencio. Need to firm up on the details so will let you know - someone may be around to drop by.

I don´t know SS because they aren´t good at marketing themselves. I do my own thing and give them a lump sum at the end of the year. Mikey lets me know when there is a special event on and I go along to that and usually do quite well but not involved with anything official, although 'the Committee' (where's Adam Mint ) know what I do and ask me to also sell cards, pens, baseball caps, t-shirts etc.

They keep telling me that in Morroco you need to haggle, I say well this is Tenerife and more importantly I'm Scottish and a miserable cow so thats a big fat no to Levi jeans for 50 cent.Gypsy wrote:

Cheek buggar, theres a sale on at the moment 'We have dropped our trousers and cut our bottoms' so they are all 50 cent, but i'm not daft the wrangler, 501's etc are not on that rail. they are on the expensive 2 euro rail, too rich for the morrocans. if you save up you can buy them!!!!The Lone Ranger wrote:scottishshiv wrote:

I charge €0.50 for a magazine so you can see what a bargain they are. OK sometimes I don´t have change for a €1 but it is still a bargain LOL

Alex Scarrow - The Candle Man.
Superb take on the Whitechapel Ripper events, linking in Titanic and the whole royalty myth that links in with the Ripper take very clever. Yet another superb stand alone novel from Alex Scarrow:
1912. Locked in an eerily quiet dining room on the Titanic, a mysterious man tells a young girl his life story as the ship begins to sink. It all starts in Whitechapel, London in 1888...
Give it a look you won't b edisappointed I pomise.

Reading at the minute "Moral Combat:A History of World War 2 by Michael Burleigh.
A very good read so far about the events leading up to and during the war, the main personalties and about the horrors of the Nazi occupation and their crimes against humanity...also stories about the bravery of men and women who stood up against their crimes...Recommended

Just read my bill from Tenerife for 6 months hot (well, warmish) and cold water and electric. Total €5.32. Jeez, wish it was that cheap here! Just ordered some central heating oil, £576. That will be gone by November. 6 months water here £140, 6 months leccy £400. Milks quite cheap and the beer hasnt gone up, yet.

If you said you were reading some porn book all the women would be going, sexist git etc. Obviously Mince I know you probably are reading porn and that you are a sexist git, but that's beside the point.
