Re: Mercadona or Transito
Sorry don´t know as I have only seen Transito around the Los Gigantes area so based on that I would assume Mercadona as it is nationwide (including Spanish mainland)

Re: Mercadona or Transito
Does anyone have the exact street address of the Mercadona closest to the Teneriffe Royal Garden appartments in PDLA.
I would like to check it out on Google maps so we don't walk round in circles looking for it when we arrive later this week.
Thanks

Re: Mercadona or Transito
Hello everyone.
We are coming out on Wednesday for a month. This will be our first visit to the Island not staying in a Hotel but self catering.
Very excited but also nervous about how we will cope with the learning curve.

Re: Mercadona or Transito
First off you need a shopping trolly, €14 in chinese shops, Turn right out of TRG, straight across first roundabout, Turn right at the second, Walk up to cc abora centre, Then its on your right,Watch your purse and wallet, For a better shopping experiance, Turn left at first roundabout, Thats the safari centre, Just along there on your right is santiago supermarket, Not as cheap, But its where we go, !0 times better,
Ps welcome to the forum,

Re: Mercadona or Transito
Welcome to the forum. Big questions, will you be driving? What sort of holiday will you be looking for? Do you already know very much about Tenerife and in particular the area near where you are staying?
You are going to have a great time but if we on here can help make it easier and better than lets do so.
Check out our where to eat and bars threads.
You have a really good mapping tool on your introduction page.

Re: Mercadona or Transito
Loan Ranger - Thanks for the map that is PERFECT
McQueen - Yes shopping trolley on the list.
We have stayed at the Bitacora a few times so we know the area quite well. We may rent a car but have found the local bus system very good (with a bono card of course)
We will walk and relax a lot. Do some cooking and primarily not eat and drink as much as we would if in a Hotel.
We intend to do some exploring by bus but if we feel it necessary we might hire a car for a few days. We have been to Santa Cruz and Corte Engles is a must for some shopping.
I am a planner and my wife is against planning so together we will see what comes.
We hope to eat Spanish/Canarian whenever we can when we eat out.
Thanks for all your help.

Buses can be fun, just go to bus station and get on first bus that does not say Los Cris or LA as its terminal.

Re: Mercadona or Transito
:well1: Hi
We always use Mercadona unless we need something in a hurry which was not on the list which the other one wrote as I find it has much more selection, choice and less strain on the wallet than the one outside PS3. That's just my personal opinion but you will be fine which one you chose.

Little bird tells me you are off to Tenerife very soon Innit. For fecks sake get Howard off the water will you. In his bar they charge 1.50 for coke and 50c for a small lager and lime. Haha, keeps the kids out. Yes Kev the bits I remember were ok, even had a couple of nice sunny days..........
