    Do you think we could repulse an Argentine invasion a second time considering the swingeing cuts the MOD has had lately. Most notably, the entire Harrier jet fleet? has been grounded and we don't have the replacements ready for our aircraft carrier(s) yet.
    I don't think we could defend Shetland from the Faeroe Isles just now!

    Just hand them back. How much is it costing each year to maintain a presence there? The only reason for holding on would be oil and they didn't find much back in the 90's.

    Sell it to them, economy bad we need money, they want Falklands. The people there won't want war, our guys come home and we can cut our armed forces even further.
