Haha! Yeah, it's a bit rich coming from a once Spanish colony complaining about British colonialism! I know Argentina is a different country now but you wouldn't think so looking at their names! What happened to the indigenous Indian population that was originally there? (Oooh, heavy stuff for early Sunday morning Reg!).

Maybe, but it was the nuclear subs that kept their navy locked up in port...( they didn't like what happened to "General Belgrano").

That ship survived Pearl harbour, only one not hit. Was called Phoenix then, bad luck to change the name of a boat.......

Re: 30 years since Falklands War.
Is it true that the British forces were nearly out of ammunition near the end of the war,ie:mortar rounds, heavy artillery rounds and general shortage of munitions? when they were trying to take Stanley.
Not trying to start arguments, but just interested in the Malvinas/Falklands conflict.

I'm watching a 2 hour documentary about it just now on SkydiscoveryHD. I'll let you know when it's finished...

Came across this article from a British commander who said the war was a "close run thing" and that ammo and food rations were running precariously low.

Probably true enough CC. When you are at the end of an 8,000 mile supply chain, you're bound to run short on essential supplies.
