There could be a bit of truth in that.
If Rangers survive they'll want a marquee signing and a figurehead for the fans to worship...and this could be the man.
He is married to a Glasgow girl, whose family are supposedly blue noses, and he has his money made.
If they survive I think he'll go to them,as he has always said he wants to end his days at Rangers.

Just noticed he's leaving on a free as well...makes sense then. He had some engine on him when he played for the 'Gers, ran non-stop for 90 minutes!

His legs have gone and has been this way for 2 years at least. Still, it will keep him trim for another couple of years.

He's still got the legs to play as a holding midfielder in Scotland.

A clean break is the best for all concerned, start again a fresh start.
Have said from the start of all this, make them start again from the 3rd Division up it will in turn boost the Scottish game with the like of Stirling, Alloa, Annan etct etc benefiting from seriously increased revenue form playing Rangers.

Re: If Rangers go down the Pan.
Why do they get to restart in the 3rd Division? If it is a brand new club, would they not have to work their way up through non league?

I don't think the SFA/SPL management will actually have the balls to do that, it's questionable whether they would even have the balls to send them to the 3rd division.
It'll be interesting to see what the other SPL clubs do when they have to vote on it.

Me confused.com
http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/18426943
Read both these points somewhere in among all the goings on in this affair...
1.. Why if assets such as Ibrox, Murray Park etc are worth more than the 5 to 8 million on the table are they not being sold off to repay creditors ???
2.. But also read Ibrox and Murray Park did not belong to Rangers FC, but were personal assets of Whyte and Murray ???
Anybody throw any light on it...

I seem to recall reading somewhere that Whyte had transferred ownership of Ibrox and Murray Park to one of his companies
Found it
"Who actually owns Rangers' assets?
At present, Craig Whyte is the majority Rangers shareholder after Sir David Murray sold his shareholding to the Motherwell businessman for £1 in May 2011.
Interview - Rangers joint administrator Paul Clark
Whyte currently holds a floating charge over Ibrox, Murray Park and the Albion Street car park, which were transferred to Liberty Corporate Limited in April. Liberty Corporate is Rangers' parent company and its sole shareholder is another company known as Liberty Capital Limited, which is owned by Whyte and registered in the British Virgin Islands. Whyte's father, Thomas Whyte, is the sole director of Liberty Corporate.
The floating charge is not guaranteed if the club is liquidated and could be subject to a legal challenge by the appointed liquidators."
Found it - look here for full details

Re: If Rangers go down the Pan.
Surely, in that case, they can only be assets if they are liquidating the company which actually owns them ??

Re: If Rangers go down the Pan.
Take it it's this line that adds to the confusion...
"The floating charge is not guaranteed if the club is liquidated and could be subject to a legal challenge by the appointed liquidators."
