    In these times of austerity, the government here, quite rightly, is cracking down allowances paid to some public servants. Just have a look at a few of them below

    377 members of the defence forces get the "female underwear (night-time attire)" allowance of €27.40 a year, totalling €10,330.

    Service officers get up to €34.29 per week for franking mail.

    A prison tuck shop supervisor earns an extra €2,659 a year .

    Yeah, thats true. One Sinn Fein T.D. ( Member of Parliament ) claimed 50 grands worth of printer cartridges in 3 years. Thats roughly 3 million A4 letters.
