I don't get my state pension until I'm 66! Equal rights for women indeed!

I could take my pension just now, but you lose a lot of the lump sum plus so much percent for each year before actual retirement date. I don't know what to do, so I'm leaving it 'til it matures. At least I know I'll get the maximum then. They stopped our "Final Salary" scheme 3 and 1/2 years ago and replaced it with a "Career average related earnings" scheme. I've got 31 years in the final salary scheme and that is protected but you have to be a Philadelphia lawyer to work out what you get under the "CARE" scheme. Our old final salary scheme was based on an 1/80 of final salary x years worked, so if you worked for 40 years you would get a pension of half your final salary per year.
June, this year will mark my 35th year with GPO/BT and I hope to be with them 'til I am 65, another 8 years, which will mean I will have been with them for 43 years.
