According to the latest data from the Ministry of the interior, deaths on Spain’s roads during the busy holiday period, July – August, fell to 321, down more than 11 per cent on last year and the lowest for 50 years.
As for the Canary Islands, their safety record was well above the national average with fatalities down by 14.3 per cent, making the islands’ roads among the safest in Spain.
