I am part Irish. I have found Irish people to be so warm and friendly. I have met so many on my holidays to Tenerife that have become long term friends.

Irish, Youngest son Luke - He is a ground worker, Mostly putting drains and roads in new housing estates, Like theirs a field and we are building houses, So a lot of marking out and you dig a hole there type stuff, His boss is well Irish, I cant understand a word he says, But luke was only there a month and he made him foreman ?, Then a bit later he's running things, One day i asked luke hows the job, Sound he said, I said he must think a lot about you to keep making you up,
Nah not really he said, He comes in the cabin and sits scratching his head at the plans, So i turn them the right way up and he go's you deal with that luke, And leaves, . Luke spent last week doing courses, He needs new qualifications now, Anything to do with digging roads up you have to mark out in differant colours, Cam will undersand this,
Now i dont think its an Irish thing, Think about it, Luke is running about like a loony, And all his mates are in the pub,
Upstairs for thinking,

At the end of my road, there is a T-junction with a bit of scrubland either side bordered by a 18 inch high stone wall. The council decided to clear the scrub, knock down the wall and rebuild it (wtf). The JCB cleared the scrub in one day and they put down weed barrier with gravel on top. They knocked the old wall ( remember 18 inches high by I would say 200 ft long in total). There has been 3 council workers rebuilding this same wall ( nothing wrong with the old one) since last November 12 months. 16 feckin months!! My brother in law and myself reckon we could have done it in two weeks no problem. If there is a slight mist, the boys end up in their shed. They dont start until 9.30 am. Official tea break @ 11am. Unofficial tea break at any time. Dinner from 12:30 til 13:45. Home at 16:30. If they are mixing cement, the 3 of them will stand and watch the mixer going round. Unfeckinbelievable! I'm going to apply for a job. It makes a mockery of the rest of us self employed working all hours for feck all and these kents doing sfa. Makes my blood boil.

Same old, Same old, classic case of a hole in the road and 10 guys from the council are looking in to it.

Maybe it is a knock on from the illegal lettings at Dinaste and El Mirador but that area is generally very quiet these days on an evening.

Wasn't that long ago when all Los Cris was heaving at night. We used to pop in and see Laurie and Linda at the Pelican then on to the Church some evenings and both bars wouls be full from 9pm, as would many others on the way.
I think the police killed a lot of it to start, but the areas are very dated and when the Safari area got going this finished a lot of it off.

Having a bar with simple karaoke for evening entertainment isn't going to cut it anymore, and the quicker bar owners realise that the better. Live music in the evenings is more or less essential now if you want to bring in the punters.

Depends what you want Mark, but I'm quite happy to spend my nights between the Claddagh and the Irish Times. Live music in both every night.
