If we owe you money or you have a dispute, Cam owns this forum, if you are paying money then we all own it. This forum does have owners as such but it is a forum owned by its members.

Re: Illegal lettings
Came across this elsewhere courtesy of D****n,
[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]
Apart from the illegal lettings bit, it was the last sentence that got my intrest:-
"The fine against Airbnb is the Catalan's government's second shakedown on the sharing economy in recent months – in June it announced fines of up to €6,000 for drivers who use the ride-sharing app Uber."
What's that about, had a search around the net but drew a blank, are they saying you can't share your car journey with someone else, eg; give a mate a lift to work ? Anybody throw any light on it...

Re: Illegal lettings
Reg will be interested in this. I see there was some kind of development regarding the illegal letting stuff in Lanzarote. From what I can make of it, the local government has said that clamping down on residents letting out their homes is against some EU directive or sumfink. McQ will probably be able to explain better.

Re: Illegal lettings
Well it boils down to what you can or cant do anywhere in the EU, So the fines already imposed are deemed illegal, But its a long drawn out affair getting anybody to investigate it, Manana innit
My take is if you buy on a residential complex on the cheap and inflict noisy tourists on the residents then you should be fined or even shot.

Re: Illegal lettings
Yeah but if they leased long term you might get a family of knackers who might be just as noisy and wreck the gaff. Incidentally, the lady we are renting off next summer wouldn't hear of taking a security deposit ( nor the the owners last July). Weird. They obviously don't know us!

Re: Illegal lettings
Tennants are peasants full stop,
I cant remember if i mentioned this but an email this morning went something like this,
Hola Reg
We are having a great time and the apartment is lovely, can we book for next year please,
Oh and we had an accident, I leant over to kiss my husband goodnight and the bed leg broke,
Feck right off you randy holiday makers, You were going bang at it and broke the bed leg i thought,
Have you ever heard anything like that,,
I believe there are 2 spares in the wardrobe for such occasions,
Yes you can book next October but there will be a slight increase due to the running cost rising

Re: Illegal lettings
You need an obesity clause Reg, £1 for every pound over 150. Not a bad idea for planes either I think, fat gits can holiday in Skegness or Margate. Oh, and a surcharge of at least £150 for anybody under 12 travelling during term time.

Re: Illegal lettings
Check yer video Reg. flew with Thomson today what a farce, check in I had a boarding card I printed online when I did an online check in, 1 hour 45 mins at check in desk then they ask Tenerife flight customers to step forward. We get through and have 12 mins to gate closes and it is the furthest gate at Gatwick, so really 2 miles off the Isle of whight. Get on the plane due to fly at 10.45, sorry we are waiting until after 11 for the 2 mins silence. 11.15 waiting for a tug, what is this a Thomson boat then, get to runway and then delayed again, eventually take off at 12.35..sorry no alcohol on board and we will not tolerate any hassle due to grumpy feck passengers.Mcqueen wrote:Tennants are peasants full stop,

Re: Illegal lettings
Whether the Govt law is illegal or not, those who rented out their property and didn´t pay tax on it are crooks, especially those who then bragged about it.
