A few days ago a young soldier was stabbed to death in Ayia Napa Cyprus, very little has been said about this on British news channels but through contacts in Cyprus I have discovered a few things [wouldn,t say facts] about the incident, after the killing Cypriot police searched the accuseds hotel rooms and found 11 flick knives several sets of knuckle dusters and a quantity of hash , as I said before.not a lot has been said about this and I waswondering if the "fact" that two of the accused were of Pakistani origin and the other was of Somali origin had anything to do with it being kept so quiet

Just did a bit of reading up on this. 2 questions: why was an off duty soldier in an area that is off limits? Secondly, if the assailants were of those backgrounds, we can reasonably assume that they are Muslim. If so, what were they doing in a nightclub? Finally, why would their backgrounds be a reason for keeping the news quiet?

Yeah I know, that's understandable. I got in a bit of trouble in Ayia Napa in 1995 cos I had a tight haircut and the locals thought I was a squaddie. It wasn't long after a girl was raped and killed by 3 soldiers. I think they have been banned from the area since. The same can probably be said for young Muslims. Don't know why that would be a reason not to cover the story though.

Secondly the probable reason for them being in a night club was business [hash] as they had to finance their stay ,5 star hotel and armoury purchases
