OK. Try clearing your cache in IE. Go to "Internet options" and under "General" tab click on "Browsing history" delete. Then make sure your settings are like the ones below...
...it's worth and try and won't do any harm.
Just tried above, still got the “X”...

Although I use Chrome, I also have IE so tried the above and still have the X
