Done it, train out of town about twenty minutes, place called Romley, plan was starter and a refreshment in pub and main course about four miles later in another pub at end of walk, problem, pub at start of walk stopped doing food at two thirty, plan B, small Sainsburys next to pub, one pre-prepared salad, one pack Greek olives and feta cheese, one pack smoked salmon, one pack chirito, two crusty rolls (no French bread), one bottle of the red stuff, problem, no plastic cups,,, answer, charity shop next door, six wine, well sherry glasses £1.99, off we set, over the aqueduct etc, this canal aint flat, get to the first lock on a flight of sixteen, picnic, then the Navigation pubs at lock thirteen, refreshment... Then down to the river for more refreshments, then steak for her and lamb shank for me with more of the red stuff, train back to town, meet up with mates for a piano and guitar session, all in all not a bad hangover cure, got some pictures but on iPad and don't know how to load them...
Hic...

Everyone needs a Gaz. My son in laws got one called Dick, 76 he is or something like that. Does everything for him. Not this week though cos Dick is working, hes a digger driver! All I got is a Patsy............Must keep my eyes peeled for a Gaz.........Not a camping one though.
Morning all, just on the outskirts of a rain zone. Maybe painting later.

Evening all. Packing last few things for Lanzarote in the morning. Mum still in hospital. Eileen's mum still in hospital. My dad going downhill. He's withdrawing more and more. Started crying when I brought him in to see her last night. My two brothers will be under serious strain over the next 2 weeks.

Have a good holiday Dermo. You and Eileen relax, the kids will enjoy themselves anyway. Hope it's better news when you get back.

relax and enjoy your holiday dermo. You need this holiday to recharge and be able to handle things when you get back.
