    Spell-check Windows 7 Empty Spell-check Windows 7

Post by Adam Mint Thu 11 Jul 2013 - 15:54

My computer runs on Windows 7, for some reason the spell-check occasionally on its own changes from “English (United Kingdome)” to “English (United States)”, in the past I have just went in to the spell-check options and changed to back to “English (United Kingdome)”, but for some reason this is not working now, I can chose the “English (United Kingdome)” option but after clicking OK and going back to spell-check it’s still set as “English (United States)”...
Any suggestions as how to rectify...

When I click option I get this, I then click Custom Dictionaries.
    Spell-check Windows 7 Sc211

When I do that I get this and click the English (United Kingdom) option, then OK

Go into your word document, click on Review

    Click on Set Language

Select the language you want i.e. English (United Kingdom), Click Default

You should then get a message asking if this is what you want as all future documents will be set to this.

Or is that not what you want????????

When you get the squiggly red line, right click on it and a list of suggestions come up. Click on the one you want...

I have just opened a different word document, and its spell-checks set as "English (United Kingdome), checked other word documents, some are UK, some USA ???

To be honest, most US and UK words are accepted in both places now, so it doesn't really matter a whole lot...

Yeah, but still a bit strange, all settings say it should be "English (United Kingdom)", its just when your writing something and know you've spelt it right like colour, then it comes up with a red line under it and wants to change it to color...

See the spellcheck on the forums now "English (United Kingdom)"...

Haha! Mine was set on English (US)! Set it to English (En) and it reverted back to yankee-land itself!
