Cams mates came along with 5 poles on a lorry this morning and a cherry picker so I've had no internet all day. Gone now along with 4 poles on the lorry so not over yet. Probably get overtime working Saturday.

Re: New Poles Turn Up In My Village.
Are they replacing the poles or putting it underground?

Re: New Poles Turn Up In My Village.
Huh, this is sticksville mate. Posh new pole has gone in on the corner which is where my line comes from but I thought they would be going down the lane opposite as thats where the lorry was parked. All the poles down there look a bit rough and dont stand up straight........The Lone Ranger wrote:Are they replacing the poles or putting it underground?

Re: New Poles Turn Up In My Village.
The poles they will be replacing will have this red "D" on them. It means "Defective".
The red rectangular label signifies the pole was tested on November (11) 2007 (07). The holes punched on the bottom line identify the pole tester.
DP242 stands for Distribution Pole No. 242. Each exchange area has unique DP numbers which are only used once in each area.

Dogs piss Kev. Talking of which I took a look with the dog and none of the others have got a D on. The new one stinks of creosote, but its a fine upright erection. Being as its on a crossroads a car will probably hit it next week. Sods law innit.

Re: New Poles Turn Up In My Village.
I really like piggies. Specially the baby suckling ones on a spit. :bbq5:
Bit strange but there is a notice on the new pole that tells me where to complain to if I wish to object but its in exactly the same place as the old one.

Re: New Poles Turn Up In My Village.
Look down near the bottom of the notice Vince, it will say "There is no right of objection to a pole that is merely replacing an existing pole" or words to that effect. We have to put them on all new poles by law now.Perfectspecimen wrote:I really like piggies. Specially the baby suckling ones on a spit. :bbq5:

Re: New Poles Turn Up In My Village.
So if our Government in the UK kick 500 people from Poland out, 500 more can come in without objection.
