They all live round my way in Sticksville, they pick cauliflowers. Soon we will be able to grow vegetables without the need for fields, and all done by robots. Then we can plant trees and England will look like it did 10,000 years ago.

Re: New Poles Turn Up In My Village.
You need trees nice and straight for telegraph poles. Cam probably knows what species of tree they use. Poplars?

Re: New Poles Turn Up In My Village.
We get most of ours from Scandanavia, it's called "Imported Fir", bit vague that, but we also use Scots Pine. We are getting rid of all the GRP (glass re-inforced plastic) poles 'cos kids found out if you put fires at the bottom of them they melted and collapsed! We also use steel hollow poles where the pole may be situated next to spiked railings or razor wire or some such hazard, as these poles do not need to be climbed to install the wires. We also have a new "Green" pole which is not preserved with creosote but by some non-carcinogenic chemicals for use in school playgrounds, nurseries or picnic areas etc.

Might be wrong here but I thought creosote had been banned. For general public anyway. BT must be special.
Talking of BT they have just informed me they are deleting my email address unless I sign up for broadband or pay £1.60 per month, they can go spin on it.
(same first bit) @lycos.com in future then, Yank company.

Scroll down to the bit just above "Creosote FAQs". Health & SafetyPerfectspecimen wrote:Might be wrong here but I thought creosote had been banned. For general public anyway. BT must be special.

General public shouldn't be able to get it Reg and retailers aren't supposed to sell it either!
