Passengers who want to avoid a booking fee with Ryanair will have to buy a new Ryanair-branded pre-paid cash card, available from October 4.

Those using any other card to pay for flights, including pre-paid Mastercards which currently exempt them from the fee, will be charged £6 per passenger per flight from November.

Dear god don´t these people realise there is a recession and people just don't have the money.

I know this isn't really the thread for this but would anyone know when is the best time to book with Ryanair. I've always believed it to be asap, but we are looking at flights from Cork for 5 of us for next August costing 1070 euro return and thats not including baggage. Should I wait to see if prices decrease or should I go ahead now?

It use to be better to book as soon as the flights were available but I have always waited and checked all the time until a good price came up. If you have certain dates that you need it could be risky to wait. Hopefully someone who uses Ryanair all the time can give you better info.

Thanks Mermaid. I think Reg uses them quite often so he may be able to throw further light on the subject. Last year it was 890 in total including bags!

I use them quite a bit but find the only way to be able to get a cheap flight is to be flexible on dates.

I rarely take luggage as I find I can squeeze enough into their hand-baggage at 10kilo. As I am normally flying to UK I am also flexible on airport so either Stansted or Luton makes little difference.

I then make sure the box showing the price says all taxes included. It sometimes means booking two different flights one going and one coming back as opposed to a return and this could also mean flying back from a different airport so if I fly into Stansted I might have to fly out of Luton. If you follow my drift.

I normally manage a good deal. The worst I have had is when I have to book luggage each way for two of us and that has added 80 pounds onto the total price. That really grieves.
