Re: Storms
It's the authorities who are the eejits, vehicles like that van, light laden or empty curtain side trucks/trailers should be barred from the roads when winds reach a certain speed, they're just an accident waiting to happen...
Few years back very strong winds which were well predicted hit the M6 and M60 in the Lancashire/Cheshire area, trucks were getting blown over on the motorways all day, did the cops put vehicles vulnerable to begin blown over off the road, no,,, then early afternoon a couple of trucks get blown over on the Thelwall and Barton bridges that carry the M6 and M60 motorways over the Manchester Ship Canal, what do the cops do then, shut both motorway crossings to all traffic, absolute gridlock, all traffic from both motorways then headed to either Warrington or Manchester to other canal crossings located in the hearts of the city's, I heard on the radio of the trafic chaos and decided to leave work early, drove out of work, got to junction at end of road, gridlock, dumped car back at work and walked home, took just over a hour, Manchester roads were just one big car park, nothing going anywhere, had a work colleague heading south on the M6, he got diverted off the motorway at one o'clock, decided to head to Warrington to cross the canal, he rejoined the motorway on the south side of the canal at nine o'clock, some eight hours later...
Cops and traffic management, fu#king joke...
