London's 'Gherkin' tower sold to Brazilian billionaire

Its symptomatic of all the world's great cities. All landmark property being bought by foreign millionaires. The Barclay brothers own half of Moscow. I think the Battersea Power station only recently was sold to Malaysian consortium. They all seem to go for the most iconic of property as if to say "Look at me. I feckin loaded". I dont mind who owns what as long as the planning authorities are very strict regarding any development and ensures that the heritage of the building is looked after.

Yes the National debt. 

Thought that was owned by hedge funds and German banks Lucky!

all street lighting is under the control of the local council and they were sold 5 years ago to EDF ....owned by the french state ..but maybe you live in UKIP land and they still run on 1950s coal gas

its not a bank its an arm of the UK government,in affect a way to raise cash for  to spend from the public ...so 100% safe ..

cant wait - can pick up cheap englsh holiday homes when they can only stay for 120 days a year and the VISA costs them €100 a pop ...the hard working ENGLISH abroad and a lot of the ENGLISH OAPS will take their money and residency to  SCOTLAND to stay n the EU  bringing a massive cash and asset boast to the newest member of the EU - and leave you with all the bums and druggies ...and import duties of 40% for all your car parts ..also end of cheap flights from the UK ...anyway it will never happen as next UK goverment will be LAB/SNP ...

i see that the FRENCH GOVERNMENT are delaying the building of new ATOMIC POWER STATION in somerset as they need the bits for their new ATOMIC POWER STATION in NORMANDY ,along with the one they are building in FINLAND .... so its good that everyone lives in 200 year old houses and can open up their fireplaces and burn all those UKIP leaflets to keep warm this winter ...maybe find a child to sweep the chimney (on a zero hours contract) 

BT to buy back 02 it sold to TELEFONICA in 2007 for 17billion ...good news for SPANISH TELEPHONE CUSTOMERS as this will be used to launch 4G nationally ... 

At the time they sold it, we thought WTF! Now they're buying it back...twats! Could have made a fortune by now if they'd kept it!
