clever move by TELEFONICA as it makes BT the major player in the UK again,so making VODAFONE weaker ,and they have just brought ONO in spain so making them NO2 in spain ...also JAZZTEL being brought by ORANGE (FRANCE TELECOM - France State 32%)
EE in the UK is 50% owned by FRANCE TELECOM + Deutsche Telekom (German State (32%)

it seems that BRITISH TELECOM is now to be 4% owned by the bundesrepublik deutschland and one % by the Fifth French Republic .....

Yeah, that's how the top brass in EE will get their extra share, BTs shares are doing quite well just now.

it seems EU rules are that ex goverment companies can have 32% ownership by the state as in the case of EDF ....but i dont know any co. in the uk still making UK tax payer any profit ....however lot going towards DE/FR/ES (02 32% of telefonica owned by spanish state ...)well at least you can put money on the UK LOTTERY and help out .....whats that oh its owned by the CANADIAN ONTARIO TEACHERS PENSION FUND ...enough to make you want to leave the country ...but dont go via birmingham airport they own that as well
