Moaning gits! BT were privatised in 1984 and we've had to provide "Universal Service Obligation" to anyone who wants a phone in the UK since then. Why should the Royal Mail think they are any different? We know that it's un-profitable to deliver letters to the far-flung corners of the UK. It isn't very profitable for us either to replace a couple of dozen decayed poles every 30-40 years to feed one house in the middle of nowhere!
