You lot are asking for it. How can you say I am a free woman when Dermot is the one on all fours.

I'm going to do it. Really. My only concern is the feckin' weather you get down there, you could pay a fortune getting there and not be able to see in front of your nose.

It was made a UNESCO world heritage site in the 90s. I just want to be able to see everything from the pier up to the monks "clochans" on the very top.Them steps are going to be awesome, they reckon the monastic settlement was founded in the 7th Century. Just the thought of walking up something that people made 1300 years ago!

Yeh, They made a good job of them, Like Kirkstall Abbey near me, No scaffold, no work boots, no electric lights, Wearing big skirts, got to be a bit chilly round the neather regions,
    Why ?

We went to York last year and had a look in the Minster. How they got them vaulted arches built that hold the roof up in them days I'll never know. Proper stonemasons then.

Looks like my Skellig Michael trip is in doubt. Brother in law only staying in Kerry for the weekend, so it will be very dependant on the weather ( plus I'm too much of a coward to do it on my own!)

The trip is 50 euro a head. They go from 3 different places, Dingle, Valentia and Caherciveen. The one I want goes from Dun Chaoin pier about 8 miles outside Dingle. THe photo below is the walkway down to it.
