Because he broke the law by using his mobile phone, where it would seem th Glasgow guy didn't, there was some legal guy on TV the other night explaining it, Cams good at finding that sort of thing so hopefully he can find the news clip....
Seems crazy, told a load of lies to pass his HGV medical then kills a load of people with a truck he should never have been driving, and it's all legal,,, laws bollocks...

As for the guy only losing his licence for a year I question that, knew a mechanic who also had a HGV class 1 licence, needed the licence for road testing trucks as part of his job. He's out on the piss one Friday night at a stag party or something, Saturday morning he's got his head down the toilet throwing up, he passes out, his wife calls an ambulance, he's in hospital one night, doctor says he most likely collapsed due to being heavily dehydrated, but the doctor also reported the incident to the DVLA who revoked his car and HGV licence telling him to apply for his car licence back after a year and his HGV licence after three, he appealed to get both licences back early, paying for private medical tests/reports but it made no difference, one and three years it was, he had never had any history of blackouts and never had another one, plus the private reports said the same as the original doctor who tookk his licence off him that most likely cause was dehydration... So how this law expert can say he would have only lost his licence for a year is bollocks, if the guy had told the truth he would never have been driving...
