I bought the Beano and Dandy annuals for an 11 year old's Christmas as stocking fillers. Was told to change them as they wouldn't get read. Don't know what Mermaid changed them for...

1919, been at the site of their crash landing a few times. It was very near to the first Transatlantic wireless station run by Marconi. I wonder did they use the radio waves for guidance?? It would explain why they put down in a bog. There is an old hotel named after them in Clifden
