well needed rest

Tried a new part of Majorca last month, we were not impressed by the resort Can Picafort, we found it a bit run down and dirty, shit alleys all over the place [dogs] not a lot going on ,we only found one decent bar with entertainment that was passable, seems to be a place full of Jimmys and Erics.

The hotel however was amazing "Tonga Towers" one of the best hotels we have used anywhere and we have used one or two, great quality food terrific room, service was amazing, we went A.I. and the drinks were all premium brands [after a word in the head waiters ear] loads of space round the pools and in the pools too if you fancied a sunbed in the water, all in all a great break . after writing this I feel a holiday coming on.

Still looking for a break, got March sorted, but looking for something now, Turkeys coming  up cheap, (wonder why), I've never been there but Annie has a few times, she liked it, all inclusives available in about a weeks time for between £500 to £700 (total) for ten days depending on hotel...

Come on Searcher you seem good at getting good deals, so what's out there...

Come on folks, need to fly out very late 16th, or a day or two later for 10 days or so, cheap, warm, and nice...

2. libya - another place with miles of sunny beaches with no one except for fishing boats full of your new next door neighbors 
3. Egypt  - spot the low flyimg jets when you on your tour of the Sinai 
4. Tunisia  - five star emergency flights home if it happens again 
5 . turkey - 5 million Syrians within 3 hours drive of your beach resort - also US jets flying over your head off on bombing missions 


what you need is a nice safe place with less modums then in your local street

Bit on the chilly side at this time of year Reg, have you looked at Cyprus Minty still hot over there and good deals are normally available, Crete is certain to have cheap deals as well,

Hitting a bit of a problem with holiday insurance, Annie checked up with her insurance (which she has via her bank card) and they have informed her they will no longer cover her for an existing problem which she now has, have tried around and not come up with anyone who will at the moment, so it's looking like we're going to have to stick to somewhere the European Health Card (E111) will work so cheap Turkey one is out the window at the moment, so recon that rules Cyprus out as well...

Is it, thought the Greeks ant the Turks were still squabbling over it...

they are,  but the EU doesn't recognise the Turk side. I think its a prerequisite that the TUrks come up with some kind of a solution before their EU membership application will be allowed.

No problem with Cyprus Minty ,in fact I think it would be a good bet in your circumstances as they have a reciprocal agreement with the N.H.S. just as long as you have your E.H.I.C. the Cypriot government just bills the N.H.S.

Annie's got 9 days holidays to use up, so want to use as many of them up as we can, we were looking at flying out after Friday 16th Oct and back before the 29th as she has an hospital appointment that day (eventually), was looking at all inclusive so at least know what minimum cost would be, but would consider anything else, apartment etc if price is right...

Found return flights today £119 each, Manchester / Tenerife out on th 15Nov for 10 days, bit later than we were thinking...

So anywhere warm that the E111 works is where we're looking at now...

having a EHIC card CHECK ITS CURRENT only gives you cover SAME AS LOCALS .so if you go to spain then and THIS IS IMPORTANT you arrive at a hospital in an AMBULANCE  then you have emergency cover .if you go to another EU country if MIGHT HAVE TO PAY ALL THE COSTS UP FRONT

They're valid, just got difficulty getting insurance cover  due to current on going issues with ongoing illnesses due to having ongoing hospital appointments to do with them, ain't like any of us are due to die because of them, but as soon as you mention you've got an hospital appointment on the application form a big "X" comes up...

Come on, FFS need some help here, my mates invited us up to Dunfermline (no not Cam) but need a good feckin excuse get out of it................
