iPads gone tits up now...

I'm using the iPad last night and it stopped responding to to my finger movements on the screen, so I switch it off and back on, I get the normal start up screen which asks you to swipe it to one side to bring up the password keypad, but when I slide my finger over the screen nothing happens...
I left it overnight and tried again this morning, still the same, anybody got a fix...

Interesting, I'm on a borrowed iPad at the moment and the forum has just logged me out for no reason just as my own one was doing...

No I ain't,,, Annie fixed it when I was at the rugby (don't mention the feckin rugby), she googled it, hold power button in until Apple symbol comes on and then let it go and it sorts itself out...
