Great News! The Irish Times is reopening with a new Management Team, Derek (keyboards) and his lovely wife Steph are now in control, and ...

THE BOYS ARE BACK IN TOWN !!!

Yes, Derek and Mark, the Confused Celts, and their crackin guest artistes are back together in the Irish Times from about 9:30pm tonight, Friday 11th November, and every night thereafter.

Sure the excitement and anticipation has reached fever pitch! They'll be ably assisted by Gemma and Nicky who are Dublin's loss and our gain and Derek's better half, Stephanie, to ensure the best night of craic to be found in Tenerife.

It will be a great night with Derek and Steph and the new Team extending you a warm Irish welcome.

Would have loved to be there but unfortunately will be in Birmingham today Will certainly give it a try when next in Los Cris. No doubt Howard wouldn't object to being forum tester or is that taster!!!

That is fantastic news and I was jumping for joy when i heard last night. The Irish Times with Mark and Derek will rock again. I so wish I could have been there tonight but will be there in spirit.

Steve, tell Derek, Steph and Mark that Campbell and Trisha wish them all the very best in their new venture and we hope to see them next year.

yep i will have a bo peep next week must be 2 years since my last visit up there.

For me the newbie , has the Irish Times re-reopened again ?

What I mean is I thought it was recently reopened by the lad who used to be in the Dubliner band and his wife/girlfriend (sorry forgot his name but sure his girlfriend was Finnish).

So is it him or has it re-reopned ?

Arriving very soon and we loved the Irish Times when we stayed in LC and its certainly worth the walk from TRG for a cracking night out.

The chap you are talking about is Johnny and his girlfriend is Pinja (Yes, Finnish). They managed the Irish Times, I think for a couple of years, closed the bar at the beginning of November this year. Last I spoke to Johnny he wasnt sure what his plans were now.

Derek (keyboards) and his wife Steph have taken it over and Mark (guitar) has also returned. Derek and Mark performed at the Irish Times for around 10 years before the recent changes and they are really pleased to be back again!

With new (Irish) staff and some fantastic ideas the Irish Times is looking good for a great night out!

Welcome Blythe, you can be sure with that mix it will be fab.
SGD or a member from Irish Times want to do a full write up on the new set up and whats on, feel free.

Spent sometime in The Irish Times. I agree T boo the sax player is good.(were you spying on us?)
Met Sgd and his wife and Jimbo. This was such a pleasure and was totally a surprise to me. A gentleman he was.
