Good, don't like to see other members enjoying themselves too much. I tried to blow up the neighbours car yesterday Reg! Have a look at the "What are you doing today" thread .

Ooo You have to be very carefull now with the modern electrics
At the mot station a while back a toyotas rear indicator bulbs were too white so the lad thought while is running with the hazard lights on he would change the bulbs, big mistake
cant remember the outcome but it was costly

Heyup Reg! Welcome home! I'm off to badminton, I'll put up the Friday photos when I get back. Wifi is chronic just now, taking an age just to show a new post.

, dont take it for granted the marks are right, use the old method first, Top dead centre and 2 cam lobes at 10 to 2, ie rocking, worth a go first beforePerfectspecimen wrote:Evening all. Good evening. Lobes are correct on number 1 Reg. On this engine the timing marks are on the clutch cover plate which had me foxed for a while. And of course it was originally out so when I had the cam lined up (groove in the back that special tool goes in) I couldnt see any marks down there at all! There is a small round raised mark on the crankshaft that I can now see having removed the pulley and thats pointing towards the top of the engine so I'm guessing thats right. Its a 1600 td engine by the way. JX code. I have a Haynes for an early Passat which appears to be the same engine but as usual it doesnt go into great detail. Think I have read the entire club 80-90 forum by now so basically my head is overloaded with VW info. Heads not quite ready to come off yet, ran out of daylight.

Good morning. Yep, up early, or late. I got bored so i thought I would nosey on t'other forum. Jeez, they have a troll problem. Some twat called peanuts, probs his brain size then. Reading between the lines think its of the Communist persausion. So sad. And your moronic attitude towards long standing members over there too. Sad, sad, sad. Doubt you will register here to answer to your pathetic ramblings but I live in hope.
