I just googled images of sink waste/plug hole bits. Ours are so old-fashioned they aren't on google images. The waste flange is supposed to have a nice outside threaded pipe which fits neatly onto the "s" bend below. Not feckin' mine! There was a screw which went down the centre of the waste drain and then down a hole in the top of the "S" bend pipe. ( A sort of 120° lattice work with a hole in the middle was on top of the "S" bend). Problem was, a washer and nut were needed to connect to the large screw/bolt so when screw was turned then the whole lot would tighten together. I had knitting needles cut and bent, blue tack on the end with nut attached, what a kerfuffle. Long story short, it's sorted!

I floored my attic and left the extension cable under the floor before xmas. I just didn't mention that one here . Normally, if I feck up, its my own stuff. Hope the neighbour's car is all right this time

Btw, Kev asked me if , when i left the cable under the floor, I took the plug off and pulled the wire through or did I do it the Irish way and lift the floor. Guess which one I did
