eileen is dropping me into galway later. My bus leaves at 01:45 so I'm going to find a pub for a few pints while I wait. Couple of hours kip on the bus and arrive airport 04:15. Get thro security and breakfast before 06:30 flight. Land stansted 08:00 then train at 09:21 to get to Wymondham at 11:15. Go to lad's house, do paperwork and leave 12 noon. 6 and half hour drive to Holyhead. Stop there for McDonalds. Onto ferry 20:30. 2 quick pints to make me go to sleep. Wake arrived and fresh in Dublin 23:45. Drive home stopping for coffee on way. Arrive home 02:45. What can possibly go wrong

Too late Bill. Ffs I found a lock in in Galway . Bloody typical, just when I have to go. That's it though as regards pints that is it.. Want to get home without killing anyone or myself

Van is home. There is a tapping noise from the engine and the scrape he pointed out in the photos actually covers 2 panels not one. He wasn't going to give anything off so I told him I was quite prepared to walk away cos a pal of mine in Leeds would sort me out if necessary Got 100 quid off.

The Hiace from York went this morning, so i looked on Trader and an 07 popped up in Bolton
much cheapness so i bought it, as i put the phone down the lad who bought an 08 last year phoned and asked if i could repair his Scooby Doo and he would sell the van back to cover it
so now i have 2 more of the things, whats that all about  

I had a ticking on my LT. Someone said it may be vacuum pump, take rod out that follows camshaft and turn it round the other way. Worth a shot I thought, 10 minutes and zero cost. Worked a treat!

Hows the van D

Paid the VRT ( registration Tax) on friday. It is a flat fee of 200 euro for fully commercial vehicles i.e. no rear seats and a fixed bulkhead. Bringing the Vito for its MOT tomorrow. I expect it to sail through. While I'm there, I'll book in the new van for it's test. I've budgeted 1750 for anything that is wrong, timing belt change, full service and to get new signage and a tow bar fitted.

I'm also going to put in a second floor like you suggested reg. My large step ladder will only fit in on the flat on the floor. The bulkhead leans towards the rear doors as it rises so the length available for the ladder shortens the higher up in the van it is. I'm planning to take 3 days off to to that, put back up the shelving I had to rip out of the hotpress when we got the hot water cylinder replaced and finish the en suite that I started 4 years ago.

Good move   the number of vans i see and in the back its a tip, that to me is a reflection of the owner, scruffy kent,
when i had a bathroom changed in the student house the first thing the guy did was stick that clear film over all the carpets, i was impressed,
I now use it in the sales cars and motor homes especially if the carpets underneath are shite
