There is a little tiny church on Shoreham Beach named the Church of the Good Shepherd. This is the only standing part of the old Shoreham village which is out at sea. Don't worry I am not going religious and going to Church.
The Old Village used to be visible at very low tides but no more but is brilliant for herrings.
When Dad died 13 years ago next Sunday, we scattered his ashes over the Village (known as Church rocks)With the help of the lifeboat, who many were good friends of Dad.
Dad was an ex RN and docker so the sea was his life, Church rocks was his favourite place to swim when a kid and later to fish.
When we lost Mum 3 years ago today, we scattered some of her ashes off Manoel Bridge in Malta, where My brother was born and Mum and Dad had some real happy memories living there with the Navy.
We scattered the rest off Church rocks with Dads ashes.
So I have just walked Alf and Amelia along the sands at Church Rocks, the sea was calm, a warm evening and very peaceful.
