At around 3pm this afternoon a motor cruiser with 6 passengers on board was caught in high waves off the Lido, Los Gigantes.
Eye witnesses claim that 4 people jumped and swam out to sea, but 2 people were still on board when a large wave swept the boat onto the rocks. Further waves quickly destroyed the boat and it sank.
The 4 who jumped were picked up by jet skis. Three appeared ok and were taken by ambulance to hospital. The 4th was still being resuscitated 45 mins later.
