Re: Where are you today?
Go on to Portal, go down to who's on line, click "show the whole list", you get a Google map, there's a blue pointer thing stuck in the top of Ireland, if you click on it says its you...

Re: Where are you today?
On the “View the whole list” thing on the Portal page, the blue pointy thing has me in Victoria Street central London today, I’m not, I’m two miles from where I was the other day in Manchester, said I was in Macclesfield that day. The other day I was on an iPad, today I’m on a laptop, iPad connects to internet via BT and laptop via Connect3, how does the “View the whole list” Google map thing pick up where it thinks you are ???
Oh, and Mermaid you were in Dixon Road, Polmadie (Glasgow) yesterday...

Re: Where are you today?
I'm no expert but I think when you send or click a link, you automatically get connected to the first nearest available server thingy, which is why it jumps about a bit...or I could be talking pish.

Re: Where are you today?
Though that, watched a program one night about telephone systems, was surprised to find that most if not all mobile to mobile phone calls go through cables on their route at some point...

Yeah, I remember about 10/15 or so years ago when all the cellnet masts were going up, we had to get underground telephone lines to them...

Re: Where are you today?
At Christmas time cops in Manchester escort the security vans as they go around the cash machines topping them up, on the way to my local I pass one, same time every night security van pulls up, two guys jump out and do their bit at the machine, cop sits in his car keeping warm and watching the totty go by, robbers could be off with the goodies and the so called extra security wouldn't even know...
